The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is Chevy's great truck that handles just like a car. That's right, this workhorse of a truck feels and handles as smoothly as a car and you can find it here in Gonzales, LA when you visit Supreme Chevrolet of Gonzales. If all trucks handled as dreamy as a sedan, then everyone in South Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston Parish, St. John the Baptist Parish, and St. James, LA would own a truck. In this case, of course, maybe everyone should test drive the 2016 Silverado 1500 and then they would own this beautiful and well-appointed truck instead of a car. Not a bad idea. This seemingly simple truck with all its truck components, is arguably more than just a cab with a bed for hauling stuff behind it. This year's Silverado 1500 is as reliable as it gets when speaking truck and it is as comfortable as it gets when speaking car. It's sort of a hybrid, if you will, only we usually don't use that term for trucks, so maybe we'll just say it's a nice mixture of comfort and utility, which gives it an advantage over its competitors. And that's okay with Chevrolet and Chevy truck customers alike. The 2016 Silverado 1500 with all its truck components, is as accessible and smooth as a car and yet it remains the workhorse it was designed to be in the first place.
Car and Driver Magazine gave the 2016 Silverado 1500 five stars; the highest ratings a vehicle can get. We certainly understand why they would that, the Silverado is simply a great design, a terrifically engineered piece of work and a fabulous truck. This smooth running workhorse offers the owner a powerful base V6 or an even more productive V8. Either way you go you're going to get a smooth and quiet ride and the handling is going to be as simple as driving a car, there we go again. The Silverado 1500 has triple-sealed doors and acoustic-laminated glass that works to provide the super comfortable interior with the quiet ride it deserves. The Silverado 1500's 4.3-liter V6 engine is capable of producing 285-horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 puts out 420-hp and 460 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission but an eight-speed is available in the V8 model. The six-cylinder base model Silverado gets an estimated 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, and the V8 will get you 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
The 2016 Silverado 1500 is bold in its design and offers the look of a beautiful new car with the performance and utility of a real working and functional truck. It's designed to fit into your life no matter what you want to use it for, work or pleasure. The exterior has only changed slightly from last year's model. Cleaner lines, new headlights, LED daylight running lights and a few minor cosmetic improvements in the front grille and bumper to make the Silverado a touch more aerodynamic. The interior has improved noticeably. New and better materials have been used throughout the interior and premium plastic with a warm rubber finish give this truck a more cohesive and subtle look and feel within the cab. The navigation system doubles as the infotainment center and the heated front seats are covered with a dirt resistant fabric. There's plenty of room in both the front and back seats so the back seat passengers can stretch out and be as comfortable as the driver and front passenger. When you first get into the Silverado your mind will tell you that it is not a truck, but a luxury car. It will tell you this continually until you get home and you will still not believe that there is a truck in your driveway. The interior is so impressive in that way that it has actually convinced many Silverado owners that there is indeed a high end automobile parked in their garage and that they do not own a truck. We just wanted to give you a heads up about this ongoing â€~thing' that happens to so many Silverado owners. It's not a bad thing at all, it's just something that happens to a lot of Chevy Silverado fans out there, so we wanted you to be aware of it.
